Bangla New year celebration

Pahela Baishakh is the first day of Bangla new year. On this day the people of Bangladesh celebrate new year festival throughout the country. They wear traditional dresses and eat traditional foods .At dawn they say their prayer to Almighty seeking Divine blessing for personal and national benefits. They go out of home and join the rallies to welcome the Bangla New Year.

Students ,teachers, private and government service holders, businessmen, political activists , leaders, salesmen, doctors, engineers, nurses and even many housewives with their children join the rallies. Government, semi-government and autonomous organizations observe the day with special programmes .Reciting, dancing ,drama, music-show ,folk song presentation, band-show, essay and drawing competition, quiz ,magazine prgrammes etc are organized by educational and cultural organizations. Women visit relatives wearing Bashakhi Shari. They walk around their far and near with their friends and family members. Men wear Punjabi, lungi ,and gamcha (a long hand -kerchief). Children wear Bashakhi T-shirts designed with the picture of traditional items of the nation. Most of the people wear New Year Reception Caps and mask of wild animals. The whole country earns a festive look. People eat phanta-hilsha, morogpolao, sweetmeats and traditional cakes .
New year festival occupies the most of the coverage of Mass and Social medias. TV channels and Radios telecast live and recorded programmes on this day. Account-holders of social medias make static status focusing their new year celebration. People take oath to make ahead personal ,social and national activities forgetting the unexpected experiences of last year. Thus new year celebration becomes very significant and meaningful.
